Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Rounds Get Started at Brook Farm Training Centre

On Saturday 9th May, seventy-eight combinations got the first Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round of 2015 off to a flying start at Brook Farm Training Centre in Romford, Essex.
Each starter was competing with the aim of producing the treble clear needed for a place in the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final, which will be held at the British Showjumping National Championships.
After two competitive rounds, just over a quarter of the starting field made it through into the final jump off and an impressive fifteen combinations went on to secure that much desired treble clear.
The quickest treble clear was produced by 18 year-old Susannah Jeffery from Tonbridge, Kent on her own 8 year-old bay mare Mashele and their performance was to prove good enough to give them overall victory. Drawn second to go in a twenty horse jump off, Susannah was focused on riding a fast clear round and she duly achieved this in 35.73 seconds. This was to eventually give the combination 5 seconds in hand over second place.
Commenting on her result, a thrilled Susannah said “I was so surprised when it was announced that I had won the class, especially with so many others jumping clear. Mashele did brilliantly today and I am delighted with her performance.”
Charlotte Foreman, aged 33, from Canterbury, Kent secured second place with her own 6 year-old grey mare, Quite Like It. This combination was drawn to go mid-way through the jump off and they produced their treble clear in 40.91 seconds.
Third place was taken by 36 year-old Emma-Jo Slater from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire on Kimba Flamenco, a 6 year-old chestnut gelding owned by Kim Barzilay. Their treble clear was delivered in 42.70 seconds.
With another twelve combinations also achieving a treble clear, a total of fifteen combinations will now go forward to the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final.

The British Showjumping National Championships 2015 will take place during the 11th – 16th August at the National Agricultural and Exhibition Centre (NAEC), Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
