Tahnia Jordan Jones Ride Away Victorious in The Stable Company HOYS 138cms Qualifier at Bicton Arena

Fifty-two dedicated combinations gathered on Sunday at Bicton Arena in Budleigh Salterton, all with the hope of riding away victorious in The Stable Company HOYS 138cms Qualifier.

All competitors had high hopes of claiming one of the three qualification places up for grabs for The Stable Company HOYS 138cms Championship Final held at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show in October. The talent shone through as sixteen combinations remained in contention after the first two rounds of the class.

It was 14 year-old Tahnia Jordan Jones from Swindon, Wiltshire who took first place and she rode Anastasia Snook’s 14 year-old bay gelding, Thyme Flies to the top spot. Tahnia and Thyme Flies produced an early treble clear and their time of 36.48 seconds proved quick enough for the win.

Second place was taken by 14 year-old Isabelle Ryder from Thatcham, Berkshire on the 23 year-old grey gelding The Agent, owned by Simon Ryder. Isabelle and The Agent also achieved a quick treble clear, crossing through the finish in 37.75 seconds.

Third place was secured by 12 year-old Mya Roxburgh Caira from Kirkcaldy, Fife and she rounded off the podium on board Paddys Pet II, a 12 year-old grey gelding owned by Niki Caira. This combination delivered their treble clear in 47.16 seconds.
