Perry Colgate Picks Up Win in Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round at Crofton Manor Equestrian Centre

Sixty-five combinations battled in out in a hard fought Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round on Saturday at Crofton Manor Equestrian Centre near Fareham, Hampshire and it was Perry Colgate who picked up the eventual win and a place in the Championship Final.
Each competitor was focused on achieving a treble clear as this would give them a place in the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final at the British Showjumping National Championships and seven went on to do so from a seventeen horse jump off.
Perry, who is based Farnham, Surrey, was the only rider to break the forty-four seconds mark in the jump off and he achieved this blistering pace on board Freddie Stewart’s 7 year-old black mare, Calimero VH Wigenhof Z. This combination jumped from around the midway point of the jump off and they set the standard for the rest of the round after posting a treble clear in 43.42 seconds, a time which eventually proved unbeatable.
Second place was secured by Carys Jenkins from Leatherhead, Surrey and she took her place inside the top two on her own 7 year-old bay mare Savannahs Chacoa. Carys also rode with great precision to return home with a treble clear in 44.85 seconds.
Anna Beck from Romsey, Hampshire took third place on Karinder Brar’s 8 year-old chestnut mare Darina Vina. This combination secured their treble clear in 49.33 seconds.
With another four combinations also achieving a treble clear, a total of seven combinations now go forward to the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final.

The British Showjumping National Championships 2016 will take place during the 9th – 14th August at the National Agricultural and Exhibition Centre (NAEC), Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
