Abbie Daw Triumphs in Haygain Pony Discovery Second Round at Moores Farm Equestrian Centre

Moores Farm Equestrian Centre in Gloucestershire played host to a Haygain Pony Discovery Second Round on Saturday and nineteen keen combinations began the battle for a place in the Championship Final.

Ten qualification places were available for the Haygain Pony Discovery Championship Final which will be held during the British Showjumping National Championships in August.

With everything to play for as ten competitors headed into the final jump off, it was 14 year-old Abbie Drew from Solihull, Warwickshire who secured the top spot. On board Julie Suter’s 8 year-old bay gelding, Forest Charlie, Abbie put in a lightening round to secure a treble clear and first place in 36.26 seconds.

Second place went to 15 year-old Eve Stokes from Atherstone, Warwickshire riding Park Chanel, a 9 year-old grey mare owned by Samantha Stokes. Drawn second to go in the jump off, Eve secured an early treble clear in 43.93 seconds.

Giving her an excuse to start her fifteenth birthday celebrations a day early, Victoria Gilder from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire slipped into third place with Isobel Gilder’s 8 year-old bay gelding Coshla Mid-Knight. This pair produced a treble clear in 44.78 seconds.
