Team GBR Squad for the Gijon Furusiyya FEI 5* Nations Cup Announced

Di Lampard, the World Class Showjumping Performance Manager has announced her squad of five for the Gijon FEI 5* Furusiyya Nations Cup series which takes place at Las Mestas Sports Centre in Gijon, Spain.

The Nations Cup is scheduled to take place on Saturday 29th August at 13:45 hours local time with the  Grand Prix taking place on the final day of the show, Monday 31st August at 13:00 hours local time.

The squad selected is as follows:

Julie Andrews from Preston Lancashire with the 10 year-old Ayrton Z owned by Eva Bjorkman.

Robert Bevis from Wrexham, Clwyd with his own 14 year-old grey gelding Courtney Z

Joe Clayton from Huddersfield with Alison and Ken Rodgerson’s 14 year-old bay stallion Ingliston Twister 

Laura Renwick with her own and husband John Renwick’s 9 year-old British Bred bay gelding Bintang II

Keith Shore from Northwich, Cheshire with his own 12 year-old bay gelding Mystic Hurricane.

The British Showjumping Teams are supported by the UK Sport National Lottery funded World Class Programme.

The World Class Development Programme underpins World Class Performance and, together with the Equine Pathway, they comprise the Equestrian World Class Programme, incorporating the three Olympic sports of dressage, eventing, showjumping and the Paralympic sport of para-equestrian dressage.  The Programme has been funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, through Exchequer and National Lottery funds, via UK Sport since 1998.
