Talent on a Heartstring in the Red Horse Equestrian National 5YO Championship Final

After intense Preliminary rounds on Wednesday and Thursday, today saw the final of the Red Horse Equestrian National 5YO Championship class. The spectators were given the opportunity to witness some fantastic talent and witness performances from the stars of this class. The potential in the Grand Ring was phenomenal and incredibly exciting.
A dazzling first round by Jamie Wingrove, saw him sailing through into the jump offs alongside 7 other combinations. From that point on, Jamie stole the show along with the 5YO Championship title. Completing the course in a remarkable time of 45.99 seconds, Jamie and Heartstring blew all other contestants out of the water, producing one of only two double clears.
This victory can be added to the seemingly endless list of Jamie’s successes in the ring. As a producer of many accomplished young horses, this rider is no stranger to the 5 Year Old category and neither is his winning ride, Heartstring. Jamie’s successes are noted in the showjumping sphere as the commentator told spectators that Jamie had a “great record in the 5 and 6 Year old Classes”.
Jamie emerged from the victory lap relaxed and collected, he said “I’m very pleased with the results…I knew what I wanted to do, just jump the jumps”. The experience of this competitor was evident given his calm exterior and his professional approach to the entire experience.
Jamie and Heartstring have been working together since the middle of March this year and he seems very fond of this horse, he said: “She’s a careful mare, a very big jumping horse… everything that she’s done, she’s done very well. She’s a good horse.”
The only other double clear of the class was produced by Claire Gradley and Super Model, a homebred mare owned by Scott & Lynne Neilson-Hansen who are keen producers of young horses.
After an exhilarating final, spectators left feeling as though they had witnessed something extremely special.
