Leona Urquhart Rides Away Victorious in the Horseware Bronze League Qualifier at Muirmill Equestrian Centre

Leona Urquhart made a triumphant victory in the Horseware Bronze League qualifier at Murimill Equestrian Centre in Ayrshire on board Congo Van De Neerheide.

Twenty-five of the fifty-two starters produced first round clears, promising a hotly contended jump-off.  And the winner wasn’t found until the penultimate draw.  Leona from Glasgow, Lanarkshire guided Conga Van De Neerheide, an eight-year-old mare she has competed since her British novice days two years ago, into a 0.32 second victory.

Laura Templeton from Dunfermline, Fife eased Vurelise, a 14-year-old mare with Heartbreaker x Calvados bloodlines she has competed for eight years, into second place.

Taking the third and final qualifying place for the semi-final held at this year’s British Showjumping National Championships in August, is Sophia Cuthbert from Stockton-On-Tees, Cleveland riding her own Pierrot x Hemmingway 13-year-old mare, Walty L.
