Tri-Zone Airlite Senior Discovery Regional Finals Continue at Bold Heath Equestrian Centre

The sixth Tri-Zone Airlite Senior Discovery regional final was held during the weekend at Bold Heath Equestrian Centre in Widnes, Cheshire. A total of 52 starters competed in the regional final, which was held on Sunday 23rd June 2013.

From the all of the starters, 8 combinations went on to produce the treble clear required to qualify for the Tri-Zone Airlite Senior Discovery Championship Final, which will be held at the Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival (25th – 31st August 2013).

The win was taken by 27 year-old Christina Kenyon from Poulton-Le-Fylde, Lancashire on board Beseeka Red Hot Chilli Pepper, a 7 year-old chestnut gelding owned by Flight View Livery & Stud. The combination produced their third clear in a quick time of 34.26 seconds, beating the next best combination by nearly two seconds.

In second place was 16 year-old Chelsea Skelton from Lincolnshire and she achieved her treble clear on the 6 year-old bay gelding, Caramba, owned by Janet Elvin. Their top two finish was secured in a time of 36.18 seconds.

Third place was taken by 31 year-old Clare Shepherd from Middleton in Manchester riding El Diablo Grande, a 5 year-old dark bay gelding jointly owned by Clare herself and Angela Nuttall. The combination produced their third clear round in 36.20 seconds.

A further 5 riders also achieved a treble clear and a total of 8 combinations qualified for the Tri-Zone Airlite Senior Discovery Championship Final.

NB: Qualifications will be updated pending grading of results, disregarding those already qualified.

The Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival 2013 will take place from the 25th – 31st August 2013 at Staffordshire County Showground.
