Monday 11 August 2025
This afternoon, the onus was on style and performance in the NAF Five Star Style and Performance Finals at the British Showjumping three-day extravaganza at Stoneleigh, Warwickshire.
Riders rode a set test combining eight fences as well as demonstrating a show at walk, trot and canter. Rhythm, consistency, smooth lines, rideability and correct posture was the key to catch the judge’s eye.
In the NAF 1* Style and Performance Final, the tile was taken by Northumberland’s Annabelle Calvert and her seven-year-old dun gelding Misty Joe.
Katie Freemantle took home second with Blue Moon Bay whilst third place was secured by Charlotte Beadle, who piloted One Celebration.
Gwen Davies made the worthwhile journey from Wales to take a deserved win in the NAF 2* Style and Performance Final with Georgia Bassett’s 19-year-old gelding, Vox Pop.
Ella Fitzalan Howard claimed second with Banagher Billy whilst Sophie Girdley rode her way to third place with quickstep dancer.
Maya Ellen Patterson, who hails from Durham, delivered a poised and polished performance to take home the top honours in the NAF Five Star 3* Final with Sarah Patterson’s six-year-old mare Swallowtail.
