TOP SHOW JUMPERS TO COMPETE AT THIS SUMMER’S NEW EQUESTRIAN EVENT - ROYAL FESTIVAL OF THE HORSE

The Royal Festival of the Horse (Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, Friday 9 to Sunday 11 July) is delighted to confirm that top British Showjumping ranked riders Ben Maher, Tim Stockdale, Laura Renwick plus William and Michael Whitaker will compete in the main arena on Saturday 10 July.

Britain’s finest show jumpers will converge on the main arena at the Royal Festival to vie for the prize pot of £45,000 in what is sure to be a tightly fought contest of agility and speed with classes comprising a 1.60m jump off competition and speed class.

“I’m delighted to be part of this new Festival and I’m looking forward to experiencing the thrill of a brand new equestrian event as well as the jumping competition itself,” said Ben Maher who has, to date, led the rankings since August last year.

Laura Renwick, consistently the highest ranked lady rider on the ranking lists, comments on her expectations: “The Royal Festival of the Horse is a great addition to the competition calendar; I’m sure we’ll be supported by a great crowd enjoying the jumping and a summer’s day out.”

Action-packed 3-day programme
As well as show jumping on Saturday a different equestrian discipline will headline in the main arena.

Friday 9 July - dressage featuring Edward Gal, Carl Hester and Laura Bechtolsheimer
Saturday 10 July - show jumping
Sunday 11 July - Express Eventing, the one-seat-sees-all version of 3-day eventing, featuring the stars of the future.

The Festival will also host Royal Show showing classes including HOYS qualifiers, Pony Club Musical Ride, the Parelli Pavilion, farriery demonstrations and Horse Box Village.

And to complete the experience? A bit of retail therapy. Wander along avenues of stands selling your favourite brands such as Chukka, Joules, Musto and Wolsey and specialist equestrian retailers like Colne Saddlery, Dodson & Horrell, Patey Hats and Equissage.

Ticket prices range from £20 for one-day standard admission. A single one-day ticket including a covered seat in the stadium grandstand is £40. Family and weekend tickets are also available.
