Saywell recognised with prestigious award at Olympia

Showjumper Louise Saywell, a member of the UK Sport funded World Class Development Programme, was yesterday presented with the Raymond Brooks-Ward Memorial Trophy at The London International Horse Show, Olympia (19 December 2013).

The Trophy is presented each year to a young rider who has shown the greatest potential for future success during the current season in any FEI discipline.

Past pony, junior and young rider team member and medallist, this year saw Louise make her debut onto the senior British Nations Cup team, representing GB on the international stage - including the Furusiyya Nations Cup Final in Barcelona this September. With her ride Hello Winner, owned by Lady Kirkham and Lady Harris, the combination have enjoyed countless notable successes this season.

Performance Director Will Connell commented; “The award rounds off what has been a great year for Louise and her owners, Lady Harris and Lady Kirkham and is very well deserved.”

The presentation was made by The Duchess of Cornwall, alongside Raymond's sons Simon, Nick and James during the evening performance of The London International Horse Show, Olympia.
