Kelsall Hill Host Exciting Penultimate Large Pony Premier Show

Kelsall Hill Equestrian Centre hosted the penultimate Large Pony Premier Show with riders continuing to show off their skills as their vied to secure their tickets to championship finals.
Thirteen combinations came forward for Saturday’s Winter JA qualifier, with five progressing to the first jump-off and four advancing to the second. In a competitive decider, Amy Capper proved the only rider to produce a triple clear, guiding Oscar Van De Beekerhiede to victory in 33.16 seconds. Sophia Rogers took second with Jimtown, while Nancy Haffenden finished third aboard Clonberne Leam Pondi.
A strong field of 40 starters contested Saturday’s Winter JC/JD qualifier, with 17 advancing to the first jump-off and seven returning to the arena for the second. Four combinations achieved the coveted double clear, with Sophia Rogers and Fabreeker V claiming top honours in 34.12 seconds. Francesca Finneran slotted into second with For Joy, while Cora Dowey secured third place aboard Trueleva Too.
In Saturday’s Children on Horses 1.20m qualifier, Emmie Horner and Equador MW took the win with the fastest four-fault round in 41.34 seconds. Sandy Hourigan finished second aboard Madgeslane Showman, and Isabella Beaumont completed the podium with Improver.
Ten starters lined up for Sunday’s Winter JA qualifying class, with three progressing to the jump-off. Cora Dowey delivered that sole faultless performance aboard Las Vegas IV to take victory in 44.40 seconds. Emmie Horner finished second with Quina Van’t Gestelhof, while Cora Dowey also claimed third with Armene Du Costlig, opting to withdraw before the jump-off.
Thirty-seven combinations contested Sunday’s Winter JC/JD qualifying class, with 11 reaching the first jump-off and eight advancing to the second. Three riders produced double clears, led by Ella Kay and Madoghill Goronwy in 40.46 seconds. Lexie Corcoran secured second with Clounanna Archie Boy, and Isabella Owers finished third aboard Astronautes Voyage.
Lacie Williams and Cowboy took top honours in Sunday’s Children on Horses 1.20m qualifier with a polished double clear in 45.86 seconds. Sandy Hourigan followed with another second place finish aboard Madgeslane Showman, while Emmie Horner rounded out the top three aboard Equador MW.
