Mark Edwards secures top spot in the Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Second Round at Bicton Arena

Taking the Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Second Round by storm at Bicton Arena in Salterton, Devon on Friday was Mark Edwards as he continued his winning form by jumping straight in to first place.

As the class began, the starting line-up of sixty-four competitors had high hopes of claiming one of the two direct qualifying tickets on offer for the Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Championship Final at Horse of the Year Show in October. Following two nail biting rounds it was left to just twelve combinations to try and produce a treble clear.

Mark Edwards made the journey from Cowbridge, South Glamorgan with Martyn Edwards’ 7 year-old bay gelding, Montreuxs Tale. This pair made light work of the first two rounds booking their spot in the final jump off where they went on to produce a turn of speed to cross the finish line in a truly unbeatable time of 42.76 seconds.

Taking up second place was Katie Pytches from Loughborough, Leicestershire riding her own 8 year-old bay mare, Jolie Fleur Van De Noordheuvel. Securing their place in October’s final, this pair jumped a treble clear in 49.20 seconds.

With the top two taking the direct qualifying tickets for the Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Championship Final, the combinations in third to fifth took home the chance to compete at the British Showjumping National Championships.
