KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Regional Finals begin at Royal Leisure Centre

The KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Regional Finals kicked off this weekend at the Royal Leisure Centre in Henfield, West Sussex (Sunday 13th May) and the competition attracted 57 starters, who travelled from all over the country.

All of the 57 combinations started in the Regional Final with the aim of qualifying for the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Championship Final, which will be held at the Victory Shavings British Showjumping Scope Festival (26th August – 1st September 2012).

After two closely fought rounds, seven combinations then went on to compete in the final jump off and of these combinations, only four achieved that vital treble clear needed to qualify them for the Championship Final.

It was 58-year-old Jane Marston from Cranbrook, Kent who went on to win the class and she rode her own Just Call Me B to victory. The combination cleared the final jump off course in a time of 47.75 seconds, which gave them over two seconds clearance ahead of the second placed combination.

Second place was taken by Kent based 19-year-old Jodie Randall who rode her own Hambrooke’s 1st Lady clear over the course in a time of 49.89 seconds.

In third after the final jump off was 37-year-old Gayle White Alton, Hampshire who rode her clear round in a time of 51.03 seconds aboard her own Gentleman S.

The final qualification went to fourth placed 33-year-old Anna Beck from Romsey, Hampshire. Anna rode Gerda Weston’s C Serendipity clear over the fences in a time of 52.50 seconds to secure her place in the Championship Final.
