Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Second Round at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre
Monday 09 July 2012

The Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Second Rounds continued last week (Thursday 5th July 2012) at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre in Buckinghamshire. The class was attended by 80 talented hand eligible horse and rider combinations.
All of the combinations started the second round with the aim of obtaining their qualifying place for the Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Championship Final, which will be held at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) on Thursday 4th October 2012.
Up for grabs at this second round were two direct qualifying tickets for the Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS). Following two closely fought rounds of competition, seven combinations achieved the double clear required to get them through into the final jump off and in the final jump off, only two could achieve the crucial treble clear required to put them in with a chance of qualifying for the Championship Final.
The winner of this second round was 26-year-old Louise Pavitt from Crawley, West Sussex. Louise won the class on board Brendon Stud’s six-year-old bay mare, Sussex Caretino. The combination produced a flawless treble clear in a time of only 39.80 seconds to clinch the class win and the first HOYS direct qualifying place.
Second place and the second HOYS direct qualifying place went to Carl Curtis from East Riding, North Humberside. Carl rode Robert Young’s eight-year-old bay mare, Crespa, clear over the jump off course in a time of 41.06 seconds.
Just missing out on the Horse of the Year Show qualifications were the combinations in third to fifth. All of these combinations secured their opportunity to compete at the Victory Shavings British Showjumping Scope Festival (26th August – 1st September 2012).
