Elizabeth Gray commands victory in the Equissage Pulse Senior British Novice Second Round at Norfolk Show Jumping Club with Corbanna Z

Lizzy Gray posted the sole treble clear in the Equissage Pulse Senior British Novice Second Round to claim victory on Hayley Clarke’s Corbanna Z and a finalist place at the British Showjumping National Championships, Stoneleigh.

Only two clears from the 15 starters over the 1m track were realised, both going forward to the final jump-off.  But the clock did not come into play as Norwich-based Lizzy was the only rider to leave all the fences intact third time out to take the win on the Ibolensky x Ukato 5-year-old Corbanna Z.

“It was third time lucky, they had four faults in the third round in the first two qualifiers, but she hasn’t put a foot wrong from day one,” said Hayley, who bought this mare as an unbroken 3-year-old from Carron Nicol.  “Lizzy broke her in and has ridden her from day one and she’s been a little sweetheart, easy to break, straightforward and now jumping consistent clear rounds.  This was only Corbanna’s third stay-away show and Lizzy rides quietly which suits her.”
