Addington Manor Equestrian Centre in Addington, Buckinghamshire held a well-attended Dodson & Horrell 1.00m National Amateur Second Round on Sunday 20th October 2013. Forty-seven eligible starting combinations came forward to compete, all hoping to secure their qualification place for the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, which take place at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool during the 14th – 17th November 2013.

Nine competitors went on to secure a place in the jump off, and in doing so, subsequently booked their place in the Championship Final. Seven combinations achieved a double clear and the clock proved to be the pivotal factor in a well contested jump off.

Morgan Enright (27) from Bicester, Oxfordshire took the top spot on his own 8 year-old chestnut mare, Tracey Z. Morgan and Tracey Z were drawn seventh to go in the jump off and they held the lead from this point after producing an immaculate double clear in just 35.62 seconds.

Finishing a close second was 33 year-old Clare Wilson Stanbridge from Mileon Keynes, Buckinghamshire. Clare was on Fan Fair, an 11 year-old brown gelding owned by Julie Wilson. The combination also produced a fast double clear, clocking up a time of 35.90 seconds.

Third place was taken by 28 year-old Targa Hammond from Ringwood, Hampshire on Ottorongo, a 17 year-old brown gelding owned by Lee Hammond. The combination delivered the another sub 40.00 seconds double clear to finish on a time of 36.17 seconds.
