DISCIPLINARY PANEL HEARING & JUDGEMENT IN RESPECT OF MISS AMY RIDLER OF SOLIHULL, WEST MIDLANDS

Tuesday 13 June 2017

The British Showjumping Disciplinary Panel decided that Amy Ridler of Solihull, West Midlands had acted in breach of Rules 82.1 and 82.10 of the British Showjumping Members Handbook when competing at a British Showjumping Show held at Arena UK, Lincolnshire in April 2016.

Miss Ridler had assaulted a fellow British Showjumping Member by riding her horse at, and over, the victim as well as pulling her hair.

The Disciplinary Panel decided that Miss Ridler should be reprimanded and warned as to her future conduct and fined a sum of £250. The Panel also recommended that the Board of British Showjumping should not accept an application for membership from Miss Ridler until after 3 January 2019 which has been agreed.

Iain Graham, Chief Executive for British Showjumping stated “We have a clear code of conduct that we expect our members to adhere to and I trust this serves as a clear notice that behaviour such as this will not be tolerated in any shape or form”.
