Daniel Moseley delivers a win in the Speedi-Beet HOYS Grade C Qualifier at Bramham International Horse Trials

A busy weekend at Bramham International Horse Trials in West Yorkshire saw forty-five keen combinations come forward on Saturday to contest the Speedi-Beet HOYS Grade C Qualifier and it was Daniel Moseley who delivered a win.

With just three qualification places on offer for the Speedi-Beet HOYS Grade C Championship Final at Horse of the Year Show, all of the competitors were ready to take on the challenges of Diane Boddy’s course. After a nail biting first round, nineteen combinations remained to compete against the clock in the final jump off.

Daniel Moseley from South Hykeham, Lincolnshire rode John Hales’ 7 year-old bay stallion, Arrogant Un Prince straight into first place. From a late draw this partnership picked up the pace over the newly shortened course to cross the finish line with a double clear in 33.92 seconds.

Scooping up second place with a strong challenge was James Smith from Kirkcudbrightshire in Scotland on board Just Max, an 8 year-old grey gelding owned by Charles Mckerlie. This partnership delivered an accurate double clear in 34.16 seconds.

Third place went to Lisa Jones who travelled from Doncaster, South Yorkshire with her 9 year-old grey mare Diana P. This combination left all the fences standing to post a double clear in 34.36 seconds.
