BRITISH BREEDING OFFER WEBINARS TO BRING THE EQUESTRIAN COMMUNITY TOGETHER

NEXT LIVE WEBINAR:  OUR JOURNEY WITH BIG STAR –THURSDAY 4TH JUNE, 7PM
Tullis Matson talks to Nick Skelton and Gary Widdowson.

With Covid-19 restrictions having put a hold on events and social activities that normally fill the British breeders' calendars this time of year, British Breeding have come up with an innovative way of bringing people together in a new series of free weekly webinars, covering a wide range of breeding and equestrian related topics and giving participants the opportunity to get up and close with some of the great names in our industry.

Say Eva-Maria Broomer:  "What started as a little idea for us all to share some knowledge and keep in touch with our community, has exceeded our wildest expectations and turned into an absolute phenomenon. Our first webinar, "An Evening with Tullis Matson of Stallion AI" attracted 924 registrations in just 5 days of promoting it, and it's all taken off from there."

British Breeding have teamed up with names from across the industry, including the grande Dame of Dressage Breeding, Lynne Crowden of Woodlander Stud, the extremely popular Grand Prix dressage rider, Anna Ross, Nina Barbour and Shirley Light to deliver a series of informative and entertaining evenings.

Jane Marson explains:  "If you want polished, pre-scripted, heavily edited and produced content, you need to look elsewhere. What we are doing here is very different, it's just a case of using a smartphone, or a laptop camera, to give our breeders the chance to listen to and feel inspired by some of the great characters in our industry as they chat about horses. Everyone is encouraged to pour themselves a glass of their favourite drink, relax and simply enjoy coming together and learning from each other."

One of the people who grasped the potential of the concept from the very outset has been Tullis Matson of Stallion AI Services, who after the phenomenal success of his first webinar, which treated viewers not only to a stroll around their stallion barns and state-of-the-art laboratory, but also to some rare and unusual footage of working with rare breeds as exotic as elephants in the African desert, has been working closely with the British Breeding team to develop an entire series of interesting webinars, ranging from sessions focused on new developments in breeding technologies to pulling in some of Britain’s most beloved personalities.

Says Rachael Holdsworth:  "Our collaboration with all areas of the equestrian industry is exhilarating, and we are indebted to everyone who is generously giving their time to join the project. We are particularly excited about our next session with Tullis, which will see him in conversation with none other than the great Olympic legends of Big Star and Nick Skelton, and Big Star’s owner, Gary Widdowson, about how he found this horse of a lifetime, and about how they grew their partnership to beat the odds to take them to Olympic glory at Rio. We look forward to being inspired by this big-hearted horse and his rider and their story of perseverance, dogged determination and courage."

This webinar will take place on Thursday, 4th June at 7pm. Participants need to register using the following invitation link:  https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Nat94_gfQhC_xzCqM7V3Uw

Every webinar speaker is invited to nominate an equine charity of their choice, and while participating is completely free, viewers are encourage to make voluntary donations afterwards. So far, the initiative has raised funds to support the Horse Trust and the Brooke.

Further information about future webinar sessions and recordings of those what have already taken place can be found on the British Breeding website: https://british-breeding.com/webinars
