Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Rounds Continue at Pyecombe Horse Show

The Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Rounds continued at Pyecombe Horse Show at Brendon Stud in West Sussex this weekend. The second round was held on Sunday 2nd June 2013 and it was well contested, attracting a total of 56 eligible starters.

Up for grabs at this second round were two direct qualifying tickets for the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) and all of the starting combinations were aiming to take one of these tickets home.

From the total number of starters, 19 combinations went on to produce two clear rounds to make it through into the final jump off and 9 combinations then went on to produce a treble clear.

Following a closely fought jump off, the win was eventually taken by 14 year-old Chloe Reynolds from Somerset and she was on board Kayleighs Star, an 8 year-old coloured mare owned by Sophie Digby. The combination produced their immaculate treble clear in a time of 31.41 seconds to take the win with over a second in hand.

Second place was taken by 16 year-old Amy Inglis from West Sussex and she was competing on Munsboro Silver Lining, an 11 year-old grey gelding owned by Mandy Hall. This combination produced their third clear in 32.65 seconds.

With the top two places secured, the riders in third to ninth also achieved treble clears and they took home their chance to compete at The Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival 2013.
