Amateur Riders Given Another Boost

Competitors are to be given an additional opportunity to qualify for the Amateur Final at the 2010 British Open Show Jumping Championships via the BSJA National Amateur 1.20m series.

At  the 2009 National Amateur Championships, the highest placed eligible horse/rider combination will now receive automatic entry for the British Open Show Jumping Amateur Final.   For those hoping to qualify, the cut-off date for first rounds is the 31st August 2009 which qualify for the second rounds held across the country from September.    This year will see the Finals heading North to the Aintree International Equestrian Centre where competitors will not only participate in four days of superb competition but also enjoy the superb facilities available.

Julia Heywood, Show Liaison Manager for British Show Jumping commented "We are delighted that Grandstand Media, show organisers for the British Open Show Jumping Championships have made this available for our membership.  In doing so they have not only created an extra opportunity but also given a great boost to the National Amateur structure".
