This weekend, the spotlight was on the next generation of showjumping talent as young riders and their ponies took centre stage at Chard Equestrian for the STX-UK Pony British Novice Second Round.
Roger Hughes set a challenging course that tested skill and composure, with only three combinations managing to make it through to the jump-off. The pressure was on — but it was Rosa Beer who rose to the occasion.
Riding Kengo Mandy Shadow, owned by Kirsty Beer, Rosa delivered a flawless round and the only clear in the jump-off, clinching victory in an impressive time of 35.82 seconds.
Jamie Hulbert-Brown claimed second place with Kiltiernan Westside, owned by Emma Hulbert-Brown, posting a fast time of 32.10 but picking up 4 faults. Poppy Goss secured third aboard Ilston Lady Owena, owned by Karen Goss.
It was a fantastic display of young talent and determination, with Rosa Beer’s cool-headed performance securing a well-earned win in this exciting second round.
