ABBIE GRIFFIN WINS THE 2009 JOHN WHITAKER INTERNATIONAL WINTER JA CLASSIC QUALIFIER

Sixteen year old Abbie Griffin from Wolverhampton, West Midlands took first place in the 2009 John Whitaker International Winter JA Classic qualifier held at Ingliston Equestrian Centre, booking her place in the final. The Final will take place in the summer at The Royal Show.
Abbie took first place riding Heidi Griffins’ thirteen year old bay gelding Maximus Gladiator. Abbie had four faults in a jump off time of 38.95 seconds, booking her place in the final. Second place went to Pippa Allen riding Natasha Sewells’ thirteen year old bay stallion Indien De Here. Pippa had four faults in a jump off time of 40.80 seconds. Third place went to Yazmin Pinchen riding Nancy Pinchens’ eleven year old chestnut mare, Edsilia. Yazmin had four faults in a jump off time of 42.45 seconds, booking her place in the final. Laura Robinson, Graham Gillespie and Jessica Crosby all shared fourth place, with Jessica Crosby taking the last qualifying space of the competition. Jessica was riding Steven Whitakers’ sixteen year old grey gelding Shearwater Miami Bound.
