Izabella Rogers & Neil 55 are the 2021 Pony Foxhunter Champions

The crowds were on the edge of their seats this evening when Izabella Rogers posted an incredibly fast round to claim the Pony Foxhunter Championship title by almost a three second lead.

Riding Neill 55, a 9 year-old bay gelding owned by Nicola Rogers, 13 year-old Izabella from Chelmsford in Essex put her foot to the pedal to secure the win from what proved to be an exceptionally strong jump-off field.  With eleven coming forward for the second round it was a hard fought for title with all combinations vying for the title.

It was only two that managed to achieve a second-round clear with Marni McMyn being the other aboard Hoofprint Caleb, an 8 year-old dark bay gelding owned by Sue Nelson.  Their time just wasn’t fast enough to put them in pole position having stopped the clock in 37.39 seconds to finish 2nd behind Izabella.

Henry Squibb took 3rd riding Clyde Barrows, a 9 year-old grey gelding owned by Patricia Squibb.  They certainly set the arena light with their daringly fast round which saw them stop the clock faster than anyone else in the competition in 31.89 seconds. However a fence down en-route saw them pick up 4 penalties to therefore finish the highest placed behind those that had jumped clear.

Talking afterwards Izabella said “I’m beyond proud, there are no words to describe how elated I am at the moment.  I’ve had the pony for a year now, we have just grown and grown in trust and I’m just so proud of the way he has jumped, the way he has taken on the big arena, the lights, the fillers…everything. I’m just so happy.”
