Charlotte Uren Claims Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round at Dean Valley Farm
Tuesday 28 April 2026

Dean Valley Farm provided the backdrop for another competitive day of sport at the weekend as 37 rider combinations came forward for the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round, all hoping to secure their place at the final later this year.
Course designer Gillian Milner set a technical track that tested riders from the very beginning, with accuracy and rhythm proving key to success. Across the opening rounds, combinations had to produce two faultless performances to progress, and only 13 riders managed to achieve the required double clears to earn a place in the jump-off.
With the pace increasing in the deciding round, it was Charlotte Uren who delivered the quickest clear of the class. Riding her own JRP Jameson Gold, Charlotte produced a smooth and confident performance to stop the clock in 42.23 seconds and take the top spot.
“We had a fantastic weekend, and it made the three-hour journey up to Dean Valley worthwhile. We actually jumped the Ariat Senior British Novice the day before and just had the very last fence down in the last round. I hadn’t planned to do it this way around and qualify for the Nupafeed Senior Discovery first! Working in motorsport, I lose a lot of weekends to work, so I had to take the opportunity to jump both while I could. The win wasn’t expected, let's put it that way, I just wanted a triple clear! I own JRP Jameson Gold (stable name, Whiskey) and have had him 18 months now. He has done nothing and only started jumping in April last year, so has achieved a lot in that time. He is such a little trier; he’s fantastic and throws his heart at every fence.
The first round was quite twisty and needed good riding; you had to make use of the arena, but the courses all rode nicely. The course builder did a great job getting a fair percentage through to the second round and jump-off. It was built strong and square, so I had to be brave, having never been involved in jumping second round qualifiers before. It was a bit of a gulp moment! I have never qualified for the National Championships before and wasn’t expecting it, so after I won, I said, what do I have to do now!? Whiskey and I did the Blue Chip Championships earlier this month, and he matured massively, so to prepare for the Championships, we will be taking it a little bit steadier. He has gained a lot of ring experience, so I will take the pressure off, enjoy him and continue with training.” Charlotte said.
Hot on her heels was Laura Stephenson aboard Risada Tribiani, who also jumped a polished clear round to finish second in 42.43 seconds, just fractions behind the winner. Third place went to Christina Foley, who maintained the pressure throughout with another clear effort in 43.43 seconds.
The top three combinations, along with the other qualified riders from the class, have now secured their place at the British Showjumping National Championships this August, where they will compete in the final against the best combinations from across the country.
Dean Valley Farm once again hosted an excellent day of competition, and with qualification now confirmed, attention will turn towards the National Championships as riders prepare for one of the highlights of the summer showjumping calendar.
