KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Regional Final at Church Farm Equestrian

Following a year of qualifying, the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Regional Final held on Sunday 20th May 2012 at Church Farm Equestrian in Ormskirk, Lancashire attracted entries from over 50 eligible horse and rider combinations, all hoping to claim their Championship Final qualification.
Riders flocked from all over the country with the aim of qualifying for the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Championship Final, which will be held at the Victory Shavings British Showjumping Scope Festival (26th August – 1st September 2012).
Of the total entries, 57 combinations started in the Regional Final and 24 combinations made it through to the final jump off, all hoping to produce the crucial treble clear required to qualify for the Championship Final.
Of the 24 combinations looking for that treble clear, an impressive 11 went to produce it, securing their Final place for August. The overall winner of the Regional Final was 41-year-old Amanda O’Neill from Lancashire and she rode Matt Millin and Kat Taylor’s Aristocrat III clear in a time of 43.01 seconds.
Amanda finished over a second faster than second placed 31-year-old Claire West from Cheshire. Claire brought her own mare, Bonita V, home clear over the jump off course in a time of 49.44 seconds to clinch a qualifying spot for the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Championship Final.
Third place went to 26-year-old Nicola Corsby from Lancashire and she rode her own Kyleen Elegance clear over the eight fence jump off in a time of 49.46 seconds.
A further eight riders also achieved their treble clear and they all did so in a time of under 59.90 seconds.
