Team KBIS Para-Equestrian Riders Finish Second and Third in La Baule

Team KBIS para-equestrian showjumpers, Sally Kingsley and Sarah Jo Wicks, enjoyed two successful days of competition in the para-equestrian jumping classes held during the FEI CSIO5* Longines International Show at La Baule, France (14th – 17th May).

Sally and Sarah were both competing in the 1.10m section of the para classes and in the final class on Friday, their performances ensured that it was to be the Brits who secured second and third on the podium.

Sally, from Harrogate, North Yorkshire took second with her own 10 year-old dark bay gelding Amarillo II after producing a first round clear in 62.96 seconds. Sally was delighted with this result as it saw them climb up the order from Thursday. In Thursday’s 1.10m warm-up class, Sally and Amarillo II finished in third after accruing 6 faults in 90.03 seconds.

Sarah, from Doncaster, South Yorkshire finished in third on board Phillip Curtis’ 10 year-old bay mare Avalon Mill. The combination picked up an unlucky 4 faults at the second fence in Friday’s competition, but they produced a solid time of 63.63 seconds to build on their performance from Thursday. Sarah and Avalon Mill won the warm up class after delivering the only clear round in 72.94 seconds.

The team was accompanied by Chef d’Equipe Anne Newbery and they competed under KBIS British Equestrian Insurance sponsor branding.
