Scott Brash wins Rolex Top 10 Riders in Geneva
Friday 12 December 2014

Earlier this evening saw World No.1 Scott Brash from Peebleshire win the Rolex Top 10 Riders Final in Geneva by producing the only double clear of the competition with Hello Sanctos, the bay gelding owned by Lady Pauline Kirkham and Lord & Lady Harris.
Only four riders had managed to jump clear in the first round, however this didn’t ease the pressure on them with all ten riders coming back to jump again. The three riders who had joined Scott on a zero penalty score in the first round (Steve Guerdat, Daniel Deusser and Penelope Leprevost) all went on to incur penalties in the second caught by the option of being able to take out strides and the tight turns offered within the shortened course.
Patrice Delaveau (FRA) with Lacrimoso Hdc who had incurred a time penalty in the first round decided to go for a steady clear and did just that stopping the clock in a time of 50.62 seconds. With Scott next to go, he now had a time he knew had to be beaten if he was to take the title, and thriving under the pressure he produced a foot perfect performance some five seconds quicker in a time of 45.26 seconds.
His performance proved unbeatable with him claiming yet another highly desired title as his own. Patrice retained his second place finish with Steve Guerdat (SUI) slotting into third with Albfuehren’s Paille.
