Phillip Miller & Kerry Brennan secure the Gold League Wild Cards for Horse of the Year Show

The two Wild Cards that are allocated to the top two horse/rider combinations on the national Gold League, for all competitions contested as of the 31st July, are Phillip Miller and Kerry Brennan.

Phillip Miller from Harpenden, Hertfordshire and Unbelievable Lady an 8 year-old chestnut mare owned by Shirley Light, topped the league on 861.50 points.  Consistent placings throughout at the summer culminating with a win of the International Stairway at the New Forest and Hampshire Show at the end of July saw their points tally boosted to secure a strong lead.

Kerry Brennan from Chesterfield, Derbyshire with Liane Smith’s 12 year-old bay gelding Wellington M take the second Wild Card. This replicates their performance last year where they paved their way to Horse of the Year Show via the Gold League Wild Card. A win in the International Stairway at the Royal Highland Show along with a win at the CSI 2* Shows at Chepstow and at Bramham was enough for them to take second place on the League Table with a total of 772 points.

Horse of the Year Show takes place between 7 – 11 October 2015 at the Genting Arena, Birmingham and British Showjumping would like to congratulate both competitors on their success at topping the Gold League and to wish them luck in October.
