Megan and Quantum Light soar to the top in the National 148cm Championship Final
Friday 14 August 2015
The spectators in the Andrews Bowen Indoor Arena yesterday evening witnessed an unbelievable show as only one of the combinations walked away with a clear round. Megan Taylor, who rode 17th in a field of nineteen competitors gave the audience a clear leader and the following riders a time to beat in the jump off.
The atmosphere was tense as the crowd watched to see if Emma Crawford or Jodie Hall-Mcateer would manage to clinch a clear round. Fortunately for Megan and her pony, Quantum Light, the class ended with only one double clear of the National 148cm Championship Final.
Megan displayed nerves of steel as she entered the ring ready to jump her heart out. With an impressive time of 70.32 seconds, the combination wowed spectators who were beginning to think the course impossible. Megan displayed the quiet confidence of a rider beyond her years and conducted herself impeccably with every jump.
Megan was elated at the confirmation of her win and proudly showcased her pony in their well deserved lap of honour. On leaving the ring Megan expressed her immense happiness, yet retained a calm and collected appearance, she said: “I just wanted to go for a steady clear and keep the fences up”.
The dynamic duo was also presented with the Juvenile Championship Cup as extra recognition for their superb achievement. The next step for Megan and Quantum Light is ensuring that they are fully prepared for the prestigious Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) 2015.
Megan and Quantum Light have only been together for an unbelievable 4 months making their win even more impressive. If the combination can achieve this level of success in only 4 months, it will be exciting to see what they can produce in the future.
