Mark Edwards takes the win in the Winter Grand Prix at Addington Equestrian
Tuesday 05 November 2019
South Glamorgan based Mark Edwards continued his winning form on Friday evening at Addington Equestrian as he piloted Martyn Edwards’ Montreuxs Tale to the top spot in the Winter Grand Prix held during the Buckinghamshire venue’s Winter Classic Show.
Faults accumulated all over Phil Ashworth’s thirteen fence first round track with seven of the initial twenty-seven starters gaining a place in the jump-off. Two combinations went on to complete with a clean sheet and it was Mark and the trusty 9 year-old homebred Montreuxs Tale, by Tinkers Tale, who produced the goods, posting a time of 43.69 seconds.
Close behind in second place was Angie Thompson and Melanie Davies’ Bayard IV, a 13 year-old Dutch bred gelding by Numero Uno, they provided the second clear in a time of 43.82 seconds. Genene Burnett and her own Vanda Gucci cleared the jumping efforts but picked up two time-faults leaving them in third place with a time of 51.65 seconds.
