Louise Simpson 2nd in the Paris 2* Grand Prix

It was a solid performance by Louise Simpson with Graham Gillespies 9 year-old mare Calvaro’s Up To Date in the 2* Grand Prix at the Longines Masters of Paris show this afternoon.

From a field of sixty starters it was eleven combinations that managed to achieve a first-round clear with five of them going on to jump clear again in the jump-off.  It was home rider Thierry Rozier (FRA) with the 10 year-old mare Star that claimed the title with a clear in a time of 31.63 seconds whilst Louise, was the second fastest to sit just behind him with her time of 34.21 seconds.   Bliss Heers (USA) with the 9 year-old bay stallion Atidote de Mars slotted in to 3rd place with her time of 34.26 seconds.

Matthew Sampson with his own 8 year-old bay gelding Geneve R was the next highest placed Brit in the line up finishing in 8th place having incurred 4 penalties in the jump off with a fast time of 33.54 seconds.
