Laura Renwick finished third in €50,000 CSI 3* Opglabbeek Grand Prix

Monday 16 November 2015

Yesterday saw Laura Renwick from Maldon, Essex finish third in the CSI 3* 1.55m Grand Prix being held in Opglabbeek, Belgium

It was a field of just under sixty starters that came forward with fifteen of them managing to jump clear in the first round.   Riding her own and husband John’s 9 year-old bay gelding Bintang, Laura was the first of five competitors to achieve a double clear.  Stopping the clock in a time of 40.04 seconds it just wasn’t enough to hold off Marcus Ehning with Gin Chin van het Lindenhof who managed to match her performance but in a slightly faster time of 40.03 seconds to claim pole position.

Home rider Jeroen Appelen with Aikido Z also managed to cross the line just 55/100th of a second ahead of Laura after producing their double clear in 41.49 seconds, relegating Laura to third.
