Kerry Brennan lands the Winter Grand Prix at Bury Farm Equestrian Centre
Wednesday 30 January 2019

Kerry Brennan from Chesterfield, Derbyshire took the win in Sunday’s Winter Grand Prix at Bury Farm Equestrian Centre in Slapton, Buckinghamshire. Kerry piloted Liane Smith’s 16 year-old Wellington M to the top spot.
Six of the initial twenty-five starters managed to produce a first round clear over course designer Phil Ashworth’s eleven fence-track and only two went on to produce double clears. Kerry and the ever-green Wellington M put their experienced partnership to good use by shaving almost two seconds off the time of their closest rivals, crossing the line in 39.19 seconds.
Laura Renwick from Maldon, Essex produced the only other double clear to finish second with Sharon Whiteway’s Novita Jovial Z, an 8 year-old whom Laura has been competing for a year. They crossed the finish line in 41.12 seconds. Laura also claimed third place with Friso, a 9 year-old gelding owned by Christine Fiddes; they were the fastest of the four faulters, crossing the line in 41.99 seconds.
