Horse First Supplements National 4 year old Championship

It was the turn of the young horses today on day six of the British Showjumping National Championships, held at the NAEC Stoneleigh in Warwickshire. A class judged on presentation and technique, as well as accuracy, the Horse First Supplements National 4 year old Championship has two rounds.

Finishing on a score of 199, Beth Vernon and Incognito took the coveted title after taking the lead from the start and maintaining it throughout both rounds. The pair from Nottinghamshire were beautifully presented and produced effortless jumping rounds to see off stiff competition from Tracy Priest and Intro L who finished on a total of 184 points and took second place respectively.

Beth commented on her 4 year old stallion: “I bought him last year at the Brightwell Sales. I saw him in his stable and I knew that I just wanted him, whether he could jump or not. He’s so easy and jumps brilliantly. He’s not particularly stallion-like which just makes him perfect to handle. I thought the class today was excellent, there were a couple of tricky fences but the oxers were good at getting them in the air and it was a really nice course for 4 year olds.”
