Holly Miller Takes Victory in SEIB Winter Novice Qualifier at Morris Equestrian Centre

Holly Miller took victory in a strong class of forty-five competitors on Sunday and gained the top spot in the SEIB Winter Novice Qualifier at Morris Equestrian Centre in Fenwick, Ayrshire.
With just one more qualification opportunity available in the current winter competition calendar, all forty-five competitors were eagerly chasing down the two qualifying tickets up for grabs for the Championship which takes place at the Longines Royal International Horse Show in July. Following a tense first round of the class, only eighteen combinations made it through to the jump off, where the heat was turned up.
Holly, from Insch, Aberdeenshire, won the class on Felicio III, her own 6 year-old bay gelding. Holly and Felicio III showed great skill in the first round to post the fastest clear and they remained composed under the pressure of the jump off. Holly saw all the riders drawn before her return home with faults, but she was able to produce another quick and accurate clear round to finish on top in 42.21 seconds.
Second place was picked up by Jennifer Thomson from Dunfermline, Fife and she rode her own 9 year-old bay gelding Tawnmore Lux Furious. This combination gave Holly and Felicio III a run for their money as they crossed through the finish with a double clear in 43.91 seconds.

The next SEIB Winter Novice Championship Qualifier will be held at Bishop Burton College on Saturday 19th March 2016.
