Exciting Competition in the National Club Pony League Finals

Following yesterday’s exciting completion of the National Club Horse League Final in Ring 8 at The British Showjumping National Championships and Stoneleigh Horse Show, it was now time for the ponies to wow the crowds. Each competitor was looking to gain points to climb the league table and secure that all important win.
The first class consisted of riders battling it out for the 0.7m title. League competitions take place all around the country in 8 regions. Penny Griffin and Black Lad raced to victory in the 0.7m in a highly competitive jump off with a time of 29.81 seconds.
The 0.8m class followed with twenty one competitors in the first round and nine in the jump off and seven going clear. It was William Griffin from Lincolnshire who took the win with a time of 29.57 seconds, two seconds faster than any of his challengers. William completed a very confident and calm round that set him up for the following class.
It was the penultimate class of the day that saw the riders in a fierce battle for the 0.9m title. Out of three competitors in the jump off, William was one of two who had completed a double clear. William flew through the jump off in a time of 30.65, seven seconds faster than second place, allowing him to take the second winning title of the day with Ceenbangor Bleddyn and completing an excellent run for the William’s family.
The final class of the day was the 1m Pony National Club Championship. Chloe Wornham riding Ballylee Boy rode to victory in the 1m by completing a confident and accurate round.
