Emma-Jo Slater Wins SEIB Winter Novice Championship Qualifier at Crofton Manor Equestrian Centre.

It was a huge field of more than seventy starters, sixteen of whom jumped clear in the first round, that contested the second SEIB Winter Novice Qualifier at Crofton Manor Equestrian Centre, near Fareham, Hampshire last Friday.
In the hope of securing one of the two qualifying tickets for the Championship Final at the Longines Royal International Horse show next July, it was most certainly a competitive class.
The eventual winner came in the form of Emma-Jo Slater from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire with Kim Barzilay’s 6 year-old bay mare Nina Phin who jumped the fastest double clear of the competition in a time of 42.51 seconds.
Taking second place was Lauren Edwards from Stockport Cheshire with Ella Sandra G, a 6 year-old dapple grey mare owned by Andrew Doswell. Also jumping double clear, their time of 44.97 seconds was enough for them to secure the second qualifying ticket.
