Emily Dewey claims the British Horse Feeds Speedi-Beet HOYS Grade C Qualifier at Royal Bath and West

The third of the British Horse Feeds Speedi-Beet HOYS Grade C Qualifiers took place at the Royal Bath and West Show on Saturday. Fifty-three combinations came forward for a chance to gain one of the three qualifying tickets on offer for the British Horse Feeds Speedi-Beet HOYS Grade C Championship Final at Horse of the Year Show.

Course designer Andrew Palmer’s twelve fence track whittled the initial starters down to sixteen for the jump-off, with five of those combinations producing a double clear all eyes turned to the clock to unveil who had been victorious.

Emily Dewey from Shaftesbury, Dorset produced the quickest round of the competition aboard her own Isoblesse, an 11 year-old Belgian bred mare whom Emily has produced from British Novice in two years. They crossed the line in 43.65 seconds, 0.27 seconds faster than second placed Ben Raistrick and Daniel Wright’s 7 year-old Dutch bred gelding, Heaven Can Wait E who posted a time of 43.92 seconds. Third place and the final qualifying ticket went to Oliver Fletcher and Graham Fletcher’s Webbswood True Blue, a 7 year-old Dutch bred gelding, they finished in 45.84 seconds.

2nd Benjamin Raistrick & Heaven Can Wait E – 43.92 seconds

3rd Oliver Fletcher & Webbswood True Blue – 0/0 – 45.84 seconds

The Horse of the Year Show 2019 will take place from the 2nd – 6th October at Birmingham’s NEC.
