Fourteen year-old Claudia Moore from Brentwood, Essex produced a fantastic performance earlier on today to finish in second in the Pony Grand Prix at the FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Youth Finals in Opglabbeek, Belgium.
Claudia delivered a superb double clear in 39.12 seconds on board Delflip, a 12 year-old bay mare owned by Katrina Moore. From the forty-three starters, fourteen were able to access the jump off and eight went on to jump a second clear.
The top spot was taken by Ireland’s Rhys Williams on K-Little Hero d’18 after they posted a second clear in a time of 38.45 seconds. Claudia’s time of 39.12 seconds was fast enough to relegate Germany’s Ann-Sophie Seidl and Berkzicht Rob into third after they returned across the finish line in 39.96 seconds.
Lila Bremner, aged 16, from Swindon, Wiltshire also produced a strong challenge to finish in fourth with Lapislazuli, a 9 year-old dun gelding owned by Tessa Bremner. This combination secured their double clear in 40.11 seconds.
Today’s performances followed a strong start for the Team LeMieux Ponies in yesterday’s Nations Cup Final First Round. The team currently hold equal first alongside Germany and The Netherlands going into Sunday’s Nations Cup Final Competition.
The team of four was made up of Megan Li with Harry, a 16 year-old bay gelding owned by Alex Li, Tatiane Mauree with Horseabout Zibu, a 9 year-old bay mare owned by Arlina Mauree, Red Morgan with Bodyssee des Avelines, a 12 year-old dark bay owned by Didy Morgan and Claudia Moore with Delflip. Clear rounds from Megan, Tatiane and Claudia ensured that Great Britain will move forward on a zero penalty score.
