Chepstow CSI 2* - Day 2

It was Laura Mantel who won the seventy strong Big Tour on Liz Howe’s mare Glory B V on the second day of the CSI 2* at the David Broome Centre, Chepstow.  An incredibly fast jump off round saw them manage to shave over a second off Shane Breen’s time on Balouet du Rouet who had held the lead from the midway stage.  James Davenport took 3rd with Catinka.

A double victory came Laura’s way when she also took the Six Year-Olds Accumulator with New Priory Stud’s mare Funnycan.  Annabel Shieds and Rubin took 2nd whilst Laura Robinson and the British Bred stallion Darco Native took 3rd.

The Medium Tour 1.35m speed saw Beth Vernon deliver an early lead which she held onto until the end to take pole position in the line up with Omane des Faux.  From a field of ninety starters she was challenged consistently with the strongest of those coming from Jay Halim who finished just 0.6 seconds behind her on the 11 year-old Abrisco to finish 2nd.  Leonie Aitenhead finished 3rd with Westpoint Ferdinand.

Keith Shore and Zegreanne Z won the Small Tour accumulator with almost a 3 second lead ahead of Michael Fursedonn with Darcode and Laura Mantel aboard Esgracia tacking 2nd and 3rd place respectively.  Again, entries were huge with eighty five combinations coming forward to contest the class.

The Gold Tour Accumulator was won by Sammi-Jo Coffin and the 9 year-old Denzil Boy.  They took the title ahead of Julian Mincher with Renaissance, owned by Darren and Sam Middleton who finished 2nd and George Leonne and Kathryn Ellison and Hanleen Sultis who finished 3rd.  The Silver Tour 1.20m speed saw George Leonne and Champagne V post a win ahead of Scott Dollemore and Bushertown Lad and Aled Harding on Raphoe Ella who finished 3rd.
