Sunflowers on a Sunny Day – Sally Allen Remembered

Under glorious post-Easter weekend skies, Carmarthen Showjumping Club held a British Showjumping Club and Just for Schools Show at Pibirlwyd College Carmarthen, in memory of rider Sally Allen, who died in tragic circumstances a little under a year ago.

With 120 riders and their connections in attendance, the team put on a very special day, which was sunflower themed as a reminder of one of Sally’s favourite things. Golden saddle cloths, yellow ribbons and sunflowers themselves adorned horses and riders alike, whilst unique commemorative rosettes (you’ve guessed it – sunflower themed!) were the order of the day from start to finish.

Issie Allen, Sally’s younger sister was able to attend the Show, fresh from her success as a member of the Greenhill School Team’s triumph at the British Showjumping Just for Schools Winter Championships at Wales & West Showground.

Funds raised at the Show will be added to the £2000 that was generated via a silent auction which closed this week and the fund raising effort doesn’t stop there, with a Presentation Evening scheduled for the 17th April.

All those attending were presented with a packet of sunflower seeds to plant at home to ensure that memories of Sally will continue to live on.

Blodau Haul ar Ddiwrnod Heulog – Sally Allen yn cael ei Chofio

O dan awyr ogoneddus ar ôl penwythnos y Pasg, cynhaliodd Clwb Neidio Ceffylau Caerfyrddin Sioe Clwb Neidio Ceffylau Prydain a Sioe i Ysgolion yn Unig yng Ngholeg Pibirlwyd, Caerfyrddin, er cof am y marchog Sally Allen, a fu farw mewn amgylchiadau trasig ychydig o dan flwyddyn yn ôl.

Gyda 120 o farchogion a'u cysylltiadau yn bresennol, cynhaliodd y tîm ddiwrnod arbennig iawn, a oedd â thema blodyn yr haul fel atgof o un o hoff bethau Sally. Roedd lliain cyfrwy aur, rhubanau melyn a blodau haul eu hunain yn addurno ceffylau a marchogion fel ei gilydd, tra bod rhosédau coffa unigryw (rydych chi wedi dyfalu - thema blodyn yr haul!) yn rhan o'r dydd o'r dechrau i'r diwedd.

Llwyddodd Issie Allen, chwaer iau Sally, i fynychu'r Sioe, yn syth ar ôl ei llwyddiant fel aelod o fuddugoliaeth Tîm Ysgol Greenhill ym Mhencampwriaethau Gaeaf Neidio Ceffylau Prydain i Ysgolion yn Unig ar Faes Sioe Cymru a'r Gorllewin.

Bydd yr arian a godir yn y Sioe yn cael ei ychwanegu at y £2000 a gynhyrchwyd drwy ocsiwn tawel a ddaeth i ben yr wythnos hon ac nid yw'r ymdrech codi arian yn dod i ben yno, gyda Noson Gyflwyno wedi'i threfnu ar gyfer 17 Ebrill.

Cyflwynwyd pecyn o hadau blodyn yr haul i bawb a fynychodd i'w plannu gartref i sicrhau y bydd
