Will Whitaker & Utamaro d’Ecaussines finish 3rd in Knokke Grand Prix

Sunday 01 July 2018

It was a hard fought for Grand Prix title earlier this afternoon by the field of fourteen combinations that came forward in Knokke, Belgium earlier this afternoon.

From the initial field of forty-four starters it was just the fourteen that managed to achieve a first round clear with Will Whitaker, flying the flag solo for Great Britain, being one of them.  The jump-off saw many taking risks, however despite this, ten of the combinations still managed to achieve a second-round clear and it was less than two seconds that separated the top six combinations in the end.

For Will with the on-form Utamaro d’Ecaussines owned by Ludwig Criel it was a €45,000 prize haul for their 3rd place finish in a time of 39.84 seconds.   Niels Bruynseels (BEL) secured the win along with an Audi and share of the prize fund with his time of 38.74 seconds on Gancia de Muze whilst Darrah Kenny (IRE) took 2nd with Balou du Reventon having stopped the clock in 30.06 seconds.
