Two More Combinations Gain Qualification to the Prestige Italia Six-Year-Old Championship Final

Northcote Stud played host to the second Prestige Italia Big Star Six-Year-Old Championship qualifier this weekend.

Fifteen six-year-olds came forward over an inviting course starting at 1.20m with seven achieving the two clear rounds needing to advance to the jump-off.  Over the shortened and raised course, only two combinations would attain their aim to jump three clean rounds and qualify for the Big Star Bonus at the Prestige Italia Six-Year-Old Championship Final at the Young Horse Show, which takes place at Hickstead in August.

The two combinations who achieved triple clear were:

GLEBELANDS RUE DE MIEL & Joe Davis

VALENTINA BLUE & Keith Shore

NB: Results pending official grading

Riders in the Prestige Italia Six-Year-Old Championship will compete for the Big Star Trophy, awarded in honour of Nick Skelton’s 2016 Olympic gold medal winner. Any horse jumping a treble clear in one of the four Big Star qualifiers held between May and July will automatically be eligible for the £1,000 Big Star Bonus, which will be awarded in the Final.
