From 100 starters in the first round of the Tri-Zone Senior Newcomers second round at Addington Summer Classic two combinations qualified for the Championship at the 2010 Horse of the Year Show to be held from 6th to the 10th October at NEC, Birmingham.
Nicole Pavitt from Crawley, West Sussex took first place and qualification riding Festiena van Texelhof a 5 year old bay mare, by Bentley van de Heffinck, owned jointly by Lisa Tudor and Nicole’s mother Sandra. Nicole completed her third clear round in 44.54 seconds to beat her nearest rival by almost two seconds. Second place and the other qualifying place went to Andrew Saywell from Upton near Newark, Nottinghamshire riding his own Zenith IV a 6 year old, 16.1hh bay gelding who completed their third clear in 46.45 seconds.

The first five combinations also qualified to compete at the Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival being held at Stafford County Showground from 29th August to 4th September 2010.
