Tri-zone Newcomers Second Round held at Brendon Stud, Pyecombe

The Tri-zone Newcomers Second Round held at Brendon Stud, Pyecombe saw 10 of the 72 starters making it though to the final jump off to fight it out for the two Horse of the Year Show qualifying places.
 
Having just missed out on qualifying at West and West the previous week 18 year old Felix McCartney from Llandeilo, Dyfed jumped another triple clear on William Jones Irish bred chestnut mare, Evamore. This time he wasn’t leaving anything to chance and with two clears already on the score board and only three to jump after him, Felix managed to jump clear in an unbeatable time of 38.45 seconds. Second place went to 22 year old, Bury St Edmonds based Leanne Cox riding her own 7 year old Dutch bred mare Wish. Having already qualified for the Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival Leanne has now secured her place at the Horse of the Year Show by jumping clear in a time of 40.69 seconds.
 
Third place with the only other triple clear was Michael Fursedonn riding his own Zovidius who although just missing out on the Horse of the Year Show qualification he has qualifed for Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival being held at Stafford County Showground from 29th August to 4th September 2010 along with fourth placed Daniel Baker riding Zilverston II, fifth placed Georgie Crumley riding Webalia G and sixth placed Sarah Barker riding Verona VII.
