Tracey Elcock Triumphs in Dodson & Horrell 0.85m National Amateur Second Round at Moorhouse Equestrian Centre

Tracey Elcock from York, North Yorkshire triumphed in yesterday’s Dodson & Horrell 0.85m National Amateur Second Round at Moorhouse Equestrian Centre in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

With each and every competitor focused on taking one of the direct qualifying places on offer for next month’s Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, a competitive jump off unfolded with seven of the eight jump off combinations going on to produce a double clear. The Championships will take place at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool during the 18th - 22nd November 2015.

The fastest double clear of the class was produced by Tracey on board her own 12 year-old grey mare Crackadawn and they set the pace at around the midway point of the jump off. The combination flew round the jump off course in a time of 36.63 seconds and this was to eventually prove good enough to give Tracey and Crackadawn the win with just 0.13 of a second to spare.

Nicola Roe from Alfreton, Derbyshire took second place with her own 20 year-old chestnut mare Chloe after they finished the jump off with a double clear in 36.76 seconds.

Third place was taken by Natalie Walsh from Halifax, West Yorkshire and she competed on her own 6 year-old bay gelding Handyman II. They produced their double clear in 41.91 seconds.
