Toby Bevins Secures his Spot in the Dodson & Horrell 1.10m National Amateur Championship

West Wilts Equestrian Centre in Holt, Wiltshire held a Dodson & Horrell 1.10m National Amateur Second Round last Saturday and it was Toby Bevins from Chippenham, Wiltshire who not only took the top spot, but also a qualification place for the Championship.

The Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships will take place at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool during the 18th – 22nd November 2015 and four combinations in this second round achieved a much sought after qualification.

Out of the initial starting field, four combinations went through to the jump off after producing a first round clear, but just two were able to deliver a perfect double clear.

Toby delivered one of these double clears with his own 15 year-old chestnut gelding Askan Van Overis and they took the win after jumping their second foot perfect round in just 50.53 seconds.

The other double clear was produced by Tina Guppy who made her journey from Taunton, Somerset. Tina was on board Nadine Mulgrew’s 9 year-old bay gelding Conte K and they crossed through the finish beam in 51.40 seconds.

Third place went to Dominica Rogan-Pfaff from Weston-Super-Mare, Avon on her own 7 year-old grey mare Dilana SL. This combination finished on a total of 5 faults in 62.78 seconds.
