The 2010 John Whitaker International Pony Squad – First Selection Announced

 
Following an incredibly successful and busy Pony European Viewing Trials which were held at the David Broome Centre over the Bank Holiday weekend, we are pleased to announce the following riders as having been selected for the International Pony Squad which is generously sponsored by John Whitaker International.
 
This is a ‘first selection’ for the competitors hoping to catch the selectors eye, with a further Viewing Trial available at both South View Equestrian Centre, Cheshire (28-31st May) and the Charles Stanley British Masters (2-4th July), Chester Racecourse

Clare Whitaker, Chairman of the British Showjumping Performance Development Committee commented “The viewing trials saw some great talent and a high number of competitors. I’d like to take this opportunity to say, having not been able to get round to everyone personally, that we saw some superb performances over the weekend and I look forward to seeing those hoping for inclusion later on in the season the very best of luck going forward. We will be taking the squad to Moorsele next week where we’ll be competing both as individuals and four of the squad as team at our first Nations Cup, in the run to the Pony European Championships which are this year hosted in the UK at Bishop Burton College, Yorkshire at the end of July”.

The team is further supported by both British Show Jumping and the World Class Development Programme which is Lottery funded through UK Sport.
